Issues at NZCH?

Currently there are a few flights holding around Christchurch.

Jetstar flight JQ287 from Wellington is holding around Banks Peninsula

While further south, Singapore Airlines SQ297 is holding over Rakaia. 

Be interesting to know what the problem is

It appears it might be the weather. I've taken a look outside my Window, to be confronted with Pea Soup! Very thick fog that wasn't there an hour ago.

It's now 0930 and still foggy.

JQ287 looks like it is returning to Wellington.

While Air New Zealand (Mount Cook) NZ5374 from Queenstown to Christchurch went straight past. It initially looked like it was diverting to Wellington, but is now holding off Kaikoura. 

Also JQ245 from Auckland is holding over Hammer Springs.
